Today is the 10 year anniversary of 9/11. This day in history has had such an impact on our country in so many ways. We, for the first time felt our vulnerability as a nation.

I think we can all remember the exact moment in time in which we experienced this tragedy unfold. It was surreal as we listened and watched what was happening, while it was happening, and felt hopeless as we could do nothing but stare at the images. Transfixed to the TV with unbelief and shock.

At the time, I was driving into Boston on my regular 2+ hour commute and listened to Howard Stern as he vividly relayed the details of events. When I got to the office, we all hovered around the conference room as we watch the towers fall. At that moment, I think a part of all of us realized that the world and our lives would never be the same.
On this day, 10 years later, I can still get teary eyed as I think about what happened and later learned how many people I knew who lost their lives in these tragic events. For me, this day is to remember and honor all those lost not only to 9/11, but since then – in the name of freedom. Its a time to reflect on what is important to us and appreciate what we have.

What does this day mean to you? Can you remember where you where on 9/11?
